ECU Welcomes LSU Colleagues

A dental faculty member, three dental residents and two medical residents who are also East Carolina University alumni are in Greenville after Hurricane Katrina damaged facilities at the Louisiana State University campus in New Orleans.

Drs. Treva Ingram, a pediatric resident, and Mario Ingram, an internal medicine resident, are graduates of the Brody School of Medicine.

The dental residents are Drs. George Sonbol, Jeevan Yenuganti and Rodolfo Epifanio.

Dr. Brian Muzyka, director of the oral medicine program at LSU, is the faculty member now at ECU. Dr. Omar Paredes, who recently joined ECU as its dental residency director, completed his dental training at LSU.

The residents and faculty member will likely remain in Greenville through the end of the academic year, according to the office of Dr. Lorrie Basnight, the ECU associate dean for graduate medical education.
