Banner Training in High Gear
ECU’s effort to streamline financial, student and personnel files using Banner will soon be in place. More than 650 ECU employees were trained last month for one of several of Banner’s operating systems, Banner Finance.
Randalla Jones and Stephanie Coleman, along with 50 facilitators, led the training workshops through ECU’s Global Classroom in the Science and Technology building for both east and west campus users. Through the live Internet feed, trainees were trained online.
A new round of Banner training is taking place this month for those with special financial use requirements, such as those who are authorized to enter journal vouchers or who work with balance sheets.
Another Banner course is now underway to train those who use purchase orders. The training for the Purchase Order and Requisition Tracking System (PORT), will take place through Dec. 14. Online shopping, requisition requests, purchase order tracking, order history, and other features will help departments track their spending. PORT will be activated at the same time as Banner Finance.
Webcast recordings of all training sessions are available to participants. Trainees can access the recordings from their own computers or attend refresher sessions at the Self-Help building on Evans Street.
