LETTING IT FLY: ECU’s College of Technology and Computer Science hosted its third Engineering and Technology Day in November for more than 300 Eastern N.C. high school students and teachers. Among the events scheduled for the day were an egg drop competition (pictured above) and a popsicle stick bridge building competition. The egg drop competition required teams to create a device in which an egg could sustain a drop from three stories high down to a target on a brick walkway. The bridges were required to bend two inches without breaking, while holding the most weight. Sponsored by the N.C. Eastern Region Economic Development Commission, the event aims to showcase exciting engineering and technology careers through fun and challenging competitions. (Contributed photo)
