Faculty Senate Honors Rigsby

Catherine Rigsby, professor of geology and former chair of ECU’s Faculty Senate, was honored Feb. 20 by her colleagues for her service to the university.

Rigsby, who served as faculty chair from 2004 to 2006, was also cited for upholding the principles of academic freedom and shared faculty governance; for her oversight in revising parts of ECU’s Faculty Manual and codes of operation; and for her assistance with recommending changes in university curricula and policies, including the implementation of the Serious Illness and Disability Policy and forming the Academic University Environment Committee.
