COPS ON DOUGHNUT SHOPS: ECU Police Officer Tim Dixon perched atop the rooftop of Greenville’s Krispy Kreme doughnuts shop May 4 to raise money for Special Olympics. With a bullhorn, Dixon urged passersby to drop in and purchase doughnuts from Krispy Kreme, which had agreed to donate a portion of all purchases to the Special Olympics. Part of a national initiative, the “Cops on Doughnut Shops” event is one of several fund raising efforts the ECU Police undertake for Special Olympics, a year-round athletic training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
