Information Session to Focus on Summer Study Abroad

ECU faculty members interested in ECU’s Summer Study Abroad, including the possibility of leading a program for summer 2008, may wish to attend an information session Wednesday, Sept. 12 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Mendenhall Student Center.

Faculty who have led summer study abroad programs in the past will discuss their experiences with the program. Summer Abroad staff will also be available to help with planning and organization.

The study abroad programs offer an opportunity for faculty to teach abroad during either summer session.

A dozen ECU faculty members from a variety of disciplines led Summer Study Abroad trips in 2007 to 13 different countries.

Student participants this summer numbered 147. Those students return with more than classroom knowledge; they bring back an increased understanding of other cultures and countries.
