First Fairytale Boutique Successful

The Volunteer and Service-Learning Center at ECU granted the prom wishes of 30 area high school students through the generous donations to the group’s first Fairytale Boutique, held March 1 and 2.

“We were open Friday, Saturday and Sunday and worked with 30 girls, which was our goal for the weekend.

They attend 12 schools in three area counties,” said Jessica Gagne, student engagement specialist with the center.

“We had 150 dresses donated, which is wonderful for our first year.”

Some of the remaining dresses were donated to the special populations program hosted by the ECU Ambassadors and the remainder is in storage for next year’s boutique, she said.

Gagne added that the Fairytale Boutique will begin collecting dresses during the summer for next year’s event.
