Associate Dean, Research Named

Cindy Putnam-Evans, ECU professor of biology, was appointed to the position of associate dean for research in the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences.

“I’m very excited about the opportunity to work with faculty across the entire college,” Putnam-Evans said. “I hope to help faculty acquire the resources they need in order to be successful grant writers.”

Putnam-Evans came to ECU in 1993. In addition to her teaching duties, she conducts National Science Foundation research on the genetic engineering of proteins involved in the process of photosynthesis. She was named for the position after the retirement of longtime associate dean Scott Snyder.
