Swinker Named First SEACOEM President
Marian Swinker, professor in Brody School of Medicine and director of the East Carolina University Office of Prospective Health, became the first president of the South Eastern Atlantic College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
SEACOEM was formed by the merger of the Carolinas and Virginia occupational medicine societies and represents physicians in occupational and environmental medicine in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
Swinker also serves the American College of Occupational Medicine in the House of Delegates and as a board member of the Medical Center Occupational Health Section. She oversees Employee Health, Radiation Safety, Biological Safety and Infection Control Programs at ECU.
