Keihin Carolina Systems Technology, a Tarboro company that manufactures engine control systems, has donated $10,000 to East Carolina University’s College of Technology and Computer Science to help promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics education across eastern North Carolina.

ECU is partnering with Edgecombe Community College and Edgecombe County Schools to promote interest in ECU’s science and technology programs. Chris Eckhardt, vice president of Keihin operations, said, “We are anxious to strengthen our relationship with East Carolina University and continue hiring regional candidates,” he said.

“KCST has had great success with ECU interns and various departments including engineering, information technology and quality engineering.”
