SERVICE-LEARNING PARTNERS: Members of a community partner panel discussed how service-learning affects the organizations served, during the 7th Annual ECU Conference on Service-Learning, Feb. 28. Panel members Kasey Shue, center, of American Red Cross blood services, and Linner Griffin, left, ECU associate vice chancellor in Academic Programs, are pictured above. The panel was titled "A Day in the Life of a Community Partner: How Community Culture Impacts Service-Learning. Keynote speaker at the event was Randy Stoecker, a professor at the University of Wisconsin – Madison and co-editor of “The Unheard Voices,” a textbook that addresses service-learning from the perspective of the local community. ECU faculty and staff presented a number of concurrent sessions and poster presentations related to service-learning. The event was organized by the ECU Volunteer and Service-Learning Center.
