Library Exhibit Features ECU Women Studio Faculty Artists

J.Y. Joyner Library at East Carolina University celebrated the opening of "Women Artists: Professors of the Studio" with an opening reception April 14.

The exhibition, honoring the Women Studio Faculty Artists of the ECU School of Art and Design, celebrates the vision and energy of this intriguing group. It features paintings and drawings, textile and metal designs, sculpture, photography, ceramics and more.

The exhibition marks Joyner Library's third ECU faculty art show and "embodies the library's goal of integrating art into the learning experience of our users," said Larry Boyer, dean of Academic and Learning Resources. To that end, the library seeks to provide venues for artists in the ECU campus and community to display and share their art.

Boyer said, "ECU is fortunate to have a wonderful School of Art and Design and Joyner Library is pleased to showcase the works of these talented and creative women faculty artists."

The exhibit runs through June 30 and is located in the exhibit gallery on the second floor of the library.  For addition information, contact Dawn Wainwright at (252) 328-4090.
