Women faculty recognize Perkin
Dr. Ronald Perkin has received the second annual Brody Women Faculty Advocacy Award for his work to promote, encourage and implement policies aimed at the professional development of women faculty and/or students.

Perkin is professor and chair of pediatrics at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. During his 10 years at the medical school, he has hired 40 women faculty members, promoted many women faculty members, supported research by women faculty and has encouraged women faculty members to pursue leadership positions within the school.
Several women from his department now serve in leadership roles.
The award was presented at the April 22 medical school faculty meeting.
