Replacement of Permits

Replacement for lost, stolen, or damaged parking permits can be issued by the ECU Director of Parking and Transportation Services or his/her designee.  A $25 replacement fee must be paid by the individual.  Lost or stolen parking permit numbers will be placed on a list, and any vehicle found with that permit will be ticketed and towed.

Parking permits stolen as a result of the vehicle being broken into (by signs of forced entry) will be replaced at no charge. Parking permits that are stolen must be immediately reported to the ECU Parking and Transportation Services and to all law enforcement authorities with jurisdiction over the theft.

ECU parking permits must be returned to ECU Parking and Transportation Services in the event of withdrawal, resignation, termination, etc. (refer to Article III, Section 6). The permittee is responsible for all non-moving traffic violations issued to a vehicle displaying a permit assigned to him or her.

Refund Policy

Students who graduate in December may return their parking permit to the Department of Parking and Traffic Services for a possible refund of the purchase fee. A prorated refund schedule is in place for permits returned prior to December 31. A permit turned in because of disciplinary action resulting from violation of university parking and traffic regulations is not eligible for any refund.

Employees using the payroll deduction service for payment of parking permits and who leave the university before all payments are deducted should inform the Department of Parking and Traffic Services so that the deduction can be terminated. In some cases, the employee will be eligible for a partial refund.
