A T T E N T I O N - Lot Light Shut-Off

As you prepare to go home for the fall break, Parking & Transportation would like to make you aware of a couple of things that will take place in the Resident Remote Lot (D Lot/AH-08 Lot/Curry Court Lot). Beginning in the evening tomorrow, Friday, December 13, 2013, we will turn the parking lot’s lights off in an effort to conserve energy over the break. They will be turned back on in the evening of Thursday, January 9, 2014.

Those D permit holders that might be carpooling, etc. and will not be taking their cars home with them still have the option to leave their vehicles in the D lot since this lot will not be closed – just the lights turned off. As an alternative to leaving your car in the D lot over break, our office will also be allowing those D permit holders that choose to leave their car on campus to park in only the A2 and B2 zone parking lots during this time frame. Please do not park in the A1, B1, Service/Maintenance, No Parking, Handicapped, and/or Reserved Spaces.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office via phone (252-328-6294) or email at (parking@ecu.edu). Thank you for your cooperation, and we hope you and yours have a safe and happy holiday!

As you know, East Carolina University is undergoing development projects throughout the campus community. One such development project, the demolition of Belk Residence Hall, is scheduled to begin at the start of the spring semester. This improvement project will affect some bike rack locations housed on College Hill. The bike racks around Belk dorm will be temporarily removed, so all bikes that are currently attached to these bike racks need to be immediately moved.

Parking & Transportation is reaching out to those individuals that have their bikes attached to the racks that will be removed through all means available to us in an effort to ensure that locks will not have to be cut and bikes will not have to be impounded. In the event that these bikes are not removed before the fall break or Monday, December 16, 2013, they will be impounded. If your bike is one of the bikes locked to one of these bike racks, please move it immediately to one of the several other bike racks located on College Hill (map provided below). If you know other people who’s bikes are attached to the racks around Belk dorm and they don’t have a registration sticker from our office on their bike, please help us spread the word by letting them know they need to move their bikes….you could also tell them to register their bikes with us to ensure they’d receive future important information! It’s free and only has to be done once for their entire time here at ECU – unless they get a new bike.

Thank you for your cooperation and we hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday!
