Visitor Parking Options

Visitors, or individuals not enrolled or employed by the University must also display a parking permit while using campus parking spaces.  Visitor permits are issued by our department. One day permits may be purchased that will allow parking in the B1, B3, B4, B5, C zones and metered spaces (without feeding the meter).  A week permit may also be purchased that will allow parking in the B1/B3 and C zones.

Parking meters are a parking option for visitors who do not wish to purchase a parking permit. Any meter that is not operational is considered a 'No parking' area and should be reported to our office immediately.

Staff and faculty should advise guests and visitors, including those on campus for employment interviews, of the parking permit requirements.  Please let them know to stop by the Department of Parking and Transportation Services and purchase a visitor permit prior to parking on campus.  Visitors are expected to comply with University parking and traffic regulations and are held responsible for citations issued for incorrect or improper parking.

Visitors, who come to the University on the weekends and wish to park on campus Friday, should purchase a One-Day permit for Friday.  If the University is hosting a home football game, then weekend permits will need to be purchased in our office prior to 4:30pm on the Friday before the game for any lot on East Campus or College Hill that would like to be utilized during the game.

**Please be advised that the Athletic Department oversees all parking at the Stadium during home football games.  Please call their office at 252-737-4600 for more Game-Day Parking Information.

Sometimes ECU hosts events open to the public, e.g. peforming arts, concerts, and athletics events.  The permit requirement is suspended for many of these events.  Visitors should check with the event coordinator/host for event parking information.  Visitors should purchase a permit to park on campus if the permit requirement is in effect.  Please call our office for more information regarding parking for your event.
