WeCar by Enterprise is perfect for students, faculty and staff that do not have a car on campus. Membership is not limited to those people without a car, though! Some members enjoy the WeCar vehicles to save money on gas, lower the wear and tear on their own vehicles, and/or for the luxury of driving a brand new hybrid or fuel-efficient car! Members pay an affordable hourly rate which includes gas and insurance. The process to rent is still the same as other car-sharing programs: vehicles are reserved online, accessed using a membership card and returned to the same location where it was picked up. Together with ECU Parking, WeCar continues to help students, faculty and staff reduce the congestion, fuel consumption and vehicle emissions for a cleaner, greener campus!
 WeCar vehicles arrived on campus August 13, 2012. To start, the new service has 3 brand new fuel-efficient vehicles to include: a Honda Civic, a Toyota Corolla, and a Ford Focus! Two of the vehicles are available on the main campus, while the third is located for use on the Health Sciences Campus. WECAR CAN NOW BE USED FOR BUSINESS PURPOSES!
We are now expanding the program for departments to be able to use WeCar for Business!
ECU is excited to introduce WeCar by Enterprise for business use! This expansion is another great option available for faculty and staff along with our motor pool. This is an exclusive car-sharing service designed to allow faculty and staff the ability to reserve and rent a vehicle on-site for an hour, a day or overnight. Signing up is easy, and all faculty and staff will receive the discounted sign up fee of ONLY $10.00!! This fee will allow them access to the WeCar for personal use as well. Applicable fees will apply to individuals for personal use of the WeCar, but all fees for business use will be billed straight to the department. Each department must approve each individual to use the WeCar for business use, but the individual is free to use it for personal use whenever they wish.
Once approved for business use, you can enjoy the luxury of driving a brand new vehicle, and you are guaranteed to always have a car available by the local Enterprise fleet! You will never have to drive your own car for business purposes again!!
Not only will this added option save your department money, but it means you personally will not have to compromise your valuable time going all the way to the Curry Court motor pool to pick up a motor fleet car. The WeCar's are situated for your convenience in the heart of both the Main Campus AND the Health Sciences Campus! No more walking to your own car way out in the parking lot, OR wasting more valuable time searching for a parking space coming back! The WeCar is allowed to park in any regular space in any zone on campus! (Excluding Reserved, Fire, Handicapped, and No Parking Spaces)
