Call for delivery schedules on specialty non-stock gas orders. Gas cylinders can only be delivered in the Brody Complex. Empty cylinders are picked up at the time of delivery. Please call the Medical Storeroom if empty tanks are being picked up with no new order.

Please Note: Due to the nature of research and the significance of the equipment to which the gas cylinders are connected, Storeroom staff are not responsible for connecting or disconnecting tanks to the lab equipment.

Gas Cylinder Policy for the Medical Storeroom

The Medical Storeroom is responsible for the delivery of gas/cylinders from department-generated requisitions and the pickup of same empty cylinders and their return to the gas vendor of origination. The Storeroom will maintain a cylinder demurrage system in order to track cylinders dispersed by requisitions to departments. The department is responsible for the cylinder/tank until it is returned to the Medical Storeroom. The Medical Storeroom will move tanks for departments if labs change or tanks are relocated. The Medical Storeroom can not be responsible for missing or non-returned tanks. The Medical Storeroom will stock a high use tank inventory and work with our gas vendors to coordinate Storeroom stock. The Medical Storeroom is not responsible for tank hookups, valves or regulators of the various scientific equipment attached to the cylinders. Cylinder/tank safety and the various use or attachments are the responsibility of the department using the tank.
