We know when students are starting college the information can be overwhelming. The ECU Dowdy Student Store staff would like to help you in any way we can. We hope you'll find the information on this web site helpful, but always feel free to call on us with any questions you may have. If we can't help you, we'll find someone who can! The Dowdy Student Store is located in the Wright Building in the central area of the main campus – just around the corner from the entrance to Wright Auditorium. We're your headquarters for textbooks, discounted computers and software, school and art supplies, and ECU imprinted clothing and merchandise. We also offer many services to help students save time, money, or both! Come by and see everything we have to offer at the Dowdy Student Stores.

Students taking classes on campus can sign up to have their books boxed and ready for pick-up at the Dowdy Student Store in the Wright Building or an alternate location.

Online orders placed for in-store pick-up must allow at least 3 business days for processing. In store pick-up orders can be placed through Dowdy Student Stores online store, www.studentstores.ecu.edu/shop.

We prefer textbook orders for campus students to be picked up at the Wright Building.

Wright Building Store Hours for Spring Semester:
Monday - Thursday: 7:30am – 5pm
Friday: 7:30am – 5pm
Saturday: 11am – 2pm

Extended hours will be posted on our Store Hours page for special events and start of semesters.

The Half-Back Guarantee program at the ECU Dowdy Student Store guarantees the student purchasing specially-marked textbooks can sell them back at the end of the semester and receive 50% of the selling price! Not all textbooks are suitable for this program, such as those bundled packages that include a textbook, workbook, CD, and/or an Internet access code. However, the bookstore has met with faculty and identified certain textbooks that will be used again in the next term. These books will definitely be bought back at the end this term for HALF the price you paid for it.

ECU recommends that all students have access to a computer, and certain university majors have requirements that students have a laptop meeting certain minimum specifications. Let us help you through this decision-making process by explaining what a typical student needs in a computer and how the technical support and warranty play such a critical role in your decision.

Open House & Presentations

Be sure to check your Summer Orientation schedule and attend our Open House, usually held on Day 2 of orientation. New students can register for a chance to win textbooks and more in our orientation drawings. An entry form will be in the bag you receive at check-in. There's also a FREE GIFT voucher for students and family members in the bag!

Look for our parent presentations about textbooks and also the presentation about the ACE computer program. These will provide helpful information for parents to share with students.
