The BSBA in Accounting provides a broad overview of significant issues in management accounting and a detailed examination of internal accounting issues affecting multiple entity types. The courses include an array of topics needed for an accounting manager working in a dynamic environment. The BSBA degree track is ultimately designed to prepare students for careers in corporate accounting, government accounting, and internal auditing.
The MSA program prepares students for careers in professional accounting and integrates the content of the certified public accountant, certified internal auditor, and certified management accountant professional examinations. Students gain in-depth knowledge of auditing, taxation, financial accounting, cost accounting, and accounting systems, plus an overview of management in profit and nonprofit organizations. The MSA program is open to students with undergraduate degrees in accounting, business, and fields other than business. The MSA degree satisfies the education requirements of the North Carolina Board of CPA Examiners for practicing public accounting.
