Jim Kleckley is Director of East Carolina University's Bureau of Business Research and a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Finance.In addition to his day-to-day management of the Bureau's staff, he is editor of E-Focus North Carolina (the College's economic newsletter), participates in research projects, teaches a MBA economics class, and coordinates the applied research activity in the College of Business.
Dr.Kleckley obtained his PhD at the University of South Carolina.He is a regional economist and has conducted local area economic analyses since the mid-1970s as both a private consultant and as a research faculty member at several universities (South Carolina, Florida, Oklahoma State, and East Carolina).He currently serves as one of approximately fifty national economic forecasters that regularly participate in the National Association for Business Economics (NABE) Macroeconomic Forecasting Panel on the US economy; is a member of the Zillow Home Price Expectations Survey); and is the 2012-2013 President of the Association for University Business and Economic Research.
Dr. Kleckley devotes most of his research efforts to assisting business and government in the use and evaluation of economic information – from the development of economic impact and development feasibility studies to lectures and training programs that help others better-understand the strategic uses of economic information.
