Marketing Concentration

The concentration in Marketing provides students with the insight needed to identify marketing opportunities, develop appropriate strategies, and put them into action.  The concentration curriculum provides flexibility for students seeking careers in the fields of advertising, sales management, business marketing, research, distribution, retain management, product planning, services, and international marketing.

Concentration Course Requirements (18 Semester Hours)

Required Courses (9 semester hours)

  • MKTG 4562 Marketing Strategy
  • MKTG 4662 Marketing Research
  • MKTG 4732 Consumer Behavior

Elective Courses (9 semester hours of 4000 level Marketing courses)

At least 3 semester hours must be from:

  • MKTG 4362 Retail Management
  • MKTG 4532 Business and Organizational Marketing
  • MKTG 4790 Distribution Management

Choose remaining semester hours of 4000 level Marketing electives from:

  • MKTG 4332 Professional Selling
  • MKTG 4342 Sales Force Management
  • MKTG 4352 Selling and Sales Management
  • MKTG 4362 Retail Management
  • MKTG 4532 Business and Organizational Marketing
  • MKTG 4752 Advertising and Promotion Management

Operations and Supply Chain Management Concentration

The concentration in Operations and Supply Chain Management prepares students for careers in the areas of sourcing, operations, and logistics.  Graduates in OSCM have career choices as managers of purchasing, distribution, inventory, logistics, operations, quality, and supply chains.  The OSCM curriculum also prepares graduates to sit for the Certified Purchasing Manager examination.
