All students are required to attend unless they are (1) pursuing the program entirely online and (2) they live more than 90 miles from Greenville. The next scheduled orientation:

Set up and check your ECU email account.
Once you begin the program, all email correspondence will be directed to your ECU email account. New students are assigned a PirateID and password. Your PirateID and passphrase identify you to all computer resources at ECU.
Information about your PirateID and default passphrase will be forwarded to you by the University in separate mailings. Your advisor will also discuss your PirateID and default passphrase with you during your initial advising appointment.
Blackboard Information
All students should review the sample Online Class which is available at https://blackboard.ecu.edu/. Click on the "Login" button and use “ecuonline” (without the quotation marks) as both the username and passphrase.
The application Blackboard is used as the primary means to deliver course content in the College of Business for online and face-to-face classes. To access your Bb classes you will Login using your PirateID and passphrase. You might also find it helpful to review the Bb Faculty and Student Support Center information which is accessible from the Blackboard home page at https://blackboard.ecu.edu/.
Most faculty will not make their Blackboard class available until 9am on the first day of class for the summer session or semester, so the class will not be visible to the student until that time. Students should log on to Blackboard the first day of class for each term and view and/or download the required information for each of their classes.
Financial Assistance
The Financial Aid Department is independent of the College of Business and all student loans must be processed through that office. If you are seeking financial assistance for your graduate studies, it is best to start the process early. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least five (5) semester hours to be eligible to receive financial aid during a spring or fall semester. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least six (6) semester hours (six s.h. in one session or three s.h. in each session) to be eligible for aid during summer sessions.

Be sure to let the Financial Aid Officer know if you intend to take all your classes online as that, among other things, may have an effect on your financial aid award.
Only students who are admitted to the University as degree seeking students are eligible for financial aid. Students who are admitted to the University as non-degree seeking students are not eligible for financial aid.
The College of Business offers financial assistance though Graduate Student Scholarships and Graduate Assistantships. Scholarships are available to full time students (9 semester hours or more). Visit http://www.ecu.edu/cs-bus/graduatescholarships.cfm for more information. Graduate assistantships pay $3,750 per academic year for 10 hours work per week. Awarding of GA's is made at the time of acceptance and is based on factors and resources available at that time. Visit http://www.ecu.edu/cs-bus/GradAssistantships.cfm for more information.
