Setting Sail: Plotting Your Course to Graduation & Beyond

Congratulations on nearing an important milestone: Graduating with your BSBA! You have faced many challenges both in and out of the classroom.  Much has been expected and you have risen to the challenge.  However, your journey is only beginning.

Over the next several weeks and months, you will be preparing to transition to the next great phase of your life, whether that be entering into full-time employment, graduate education, military service, or some other adventure life brings your way.  We want you to head into the next phase of your life without thinking to yourself, "Have I done everything I need to do?"

On this web site, you will find several to-do lists.  They are not meant to be exhaustive lists, but they should give you an idea of the kind of things you should be doing now through the weeks following graduation.


Logistic To-Do List

Grad Expo - Dowdy Student Stores sponsors a 3-day 'Graduation Expo' for graduates to pick up their cap & gown.  No charge for a cap & gown however, honor cords have an extra fee.  You may also pick up at Dowdy Student Stores during regular business hours after a designated date.  Distance Education students may have their cap & gown mailed for a small shipping fee.  Details:

Senior Photo - Senior portraits are arranged by ECU Student Media.  The portrait sitting is free and ECU caps and gowns will be provided by the photographer.  Details:

Financial Aid Exit Interview - You must complete a financial aid exit interview or a hold tag is placed on your account and your will not receive your diploma or have transcripts sent.  Exit interviews may be completed at (first one), and at (second one). Once completed, it will take 24-48 hours to process for the hold tag to be lifted.

Continue that Pirate Pride! You'll want to join the ECU Alumni Association.  There are many perks and benefits to being a member of the Alumni Association.  Check it out at

Think about joining the Pirate Club. The Young Graduate Pirate Club is comprised of recent graduates.  Those who have graduated within four years are encouraged to join at a fraction of the cost.  There is a minimum contribution of $50 to join at the Young Graduate level (first year graduates). Some benefits include discounted membership rates, discounted season tickets (Section 10), and the accumulation of priority points.  Please visit for additional information.
