The DISSH LAB is home to the
Scholarship in the
Humanities initiative at East Carolina University. Located in
Brewster D-212, DISSH LAB is open to faculty and students in the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences working on digital projects.
Currently a sub-space of the GIS Center, also in Brewster D-212, the DISSH LAB offers 8 MAC computers with the full Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro X video/editing software, Camtasia 2, and other standard programs. There are headset/microphones, iPads, external microphones, a Cintiq touch screen with pen for creative work, a MakerBot 3D Scanner, a MakerBot 3D Printer and other hardware for creative and collaborative digital research and teaching projects.
Faculty can reserve the DISSH LAB computers for a small class or group of students through Wilma Blackwell at firstname.lastname@example.org or Jolene Evans at email@example.com.
There is a check-out system for equipment: all hardware taken out of the lab space must be signed off by
Dr. Irina Swain, Educational Technology Consultant. Please contact Dr. Swain for any help with the equipment at 252-328-2103 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have questions about DISSH at ECU, please contact Dr. Benjamin Fraser, Chair of Foreign Languages and Literatures Department at 252-328-0104.
