Dr. Amy Shannon Named Director of ECU University Studies Program

ECU's Dr. Amy Shannon is the new director of the University Studies Program, which joined the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences earlier in 2017.

THCAS Researcher Using NEH Grant to Work with Student Veterans

Dr. Anna Froula, associate professor of film studies, has designed a two-week Soldier to Scholar bridge program to bring together war scholars and student veterans who begin their studies at ECU this fall. Froula's project is funded by a National Endowment for the Humanities grant of nearly $65,000 that will allow Froula to work with student veterans over a two-year period.

The Voyages of Discovery Series advances the spirit of exploration and discovery that is the hallmark of the arts and sciences, and has become the premier intellectual event for students and faculty of ECU, the citizens of eastern North Carolina, and a showcase for the quality of academic life at the university.

Each year, the series features thought-provoking and accomplished leaders from a variety of disciplines who provide insight into important issues in today’s society, and who share their experiences and perspectives.
