NCLR Calls for Poetry Submissions for Applewhite Prize

The North Carolina Literary Review is now accepting submissions for the 2019 Applewhite Poetry Prize competition. The first-place winner will receive $250, and the poem will be published in NCLR 2020. Submissions are being accepted March 15 through April 30.

The Voyages of Discovery Series advances the spirit of exploration and discovery that is the hallmark of the arts and sciences, and has become the premier intellectual event for students and faculty of ECU, the citizens of eastern North Carolina, and a showcase for the quality of academic life at the university.

Each year, the series features thought-provoking and accomplished leaders from a variety of disciplines who provide insight into important issues in today’s society, and who share their experiences and perspectives.

Ticket Information

ECU students may request a free ticket by going directly to the ECU Central Ticket Office, and presenting his or her ECU 1 Card. ECU students who are not able to pick up a ticket in the student center prior to the event may receive a free ticket at a table in the lobby of Wright Auditorium on the evening of the event.
