Summary:
Commissioned by the Algerian government, this film was banned in France for five years. Its subject -- the tactics used to fight French colonial oppression -- remains controversial in French politics and society, as does the legacy of the Algerian War.

You are invited to join students from French 2108 and History 3445 for a series of prize-winning films addressing the question of who is “inside” and who is “outside” French society, culture and politics during the turbulent nineteenth and twentieth centuries…
Films will be screened on alternate Tuesdays/Wednesdays, at 7:00pm in Bate 1031.All films will be introduced and followed by discussion. Free and open to the public.
