GREENVILLE, N.C. (Jan. 8, 2014) — Now in its eleventh year in Greenville, the popular Foreign Policy Association’s Great Decisions Program will be hosted by East Carolina University beginning January 18 and will run through March 8. Sponsored by the World Affairs Council of Eastern North Carolina and ECU, the community forum on international affairs will run for eight consecutive Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the auditorium of the Rivers West Building.
This year’s program consists of a series of lectures by academic and professional experts. Topics of discussion will include defense technology, Turkey’s challenges, US trade policy, Israel and the US, Islamic awakening, energy independence, China’s foreign policy, and food and climate change.
ECU students, staff and faculty may attend for free and purchase the program book for $19. The public is invited to attend for a fee of $37 for all eight sessions, which includes membership in the World Affairs Council of Eastern North Carolina. The textbook is an additional $19. The cost for attending an individual session is $6.
