The Graduation Process
Degreeworks Review: Rising seniors will need to schedule an appointment with your advisor to confirm your Degreeworks is accurate. This can be done during your regularly scheduled advising appointment. All seniors need to confirm the remaining requirements needed to satisfy your specific degree program requirements.
Apply to graduate!!! Go to Banner self-service menu. Click on “student”, then “student records”, then “apply to graduate.” Be sure to thoroughly review all information for accuracy. Click here to see step by step instructions.
The address is the mailing address diplomas will be mailed to after degree requirements have been met. Use a permanent address not a temporary one!
Our department uses this information to distribute important information such as emails and letters. Students who fail to apply to graduate, using the instructions above, will not receive important graduation information, will not be in our program and will not have the clearances to pick up tickets.
All graduating seniors are required to take an exit exam in their final semester (exception students completing degree requirements in the summer will take the exit exam in the spring semester prior to the summer of anticipated graduation). All students who applied to graduate for that semester will receive an email with the days and times the exit exam is offered.
Graduating seniors will receive an invitation to complete the senior survey online. You can find the link within PiratePort to access the Qualtrics survey. We encourage you to complete this survey as it provides valuable information to our departments.
Visit https://commencement.ecu.edu for information regarding commencement ceremonies, departmental ceremonies, GradBash and more.
To RSVP to our ceremony, please follow the directions sent out via email. When tickets are utilized for our Spring ceremony, students whom pick up tickets at the Central Ticket Office, in the New Student Center, are considered attending.
During the graduation ceremony we will display pictures of our graduating class as each student walks across the stage. Please send a picture for the slide show to Mrs. Ginger Grimes (email@example.com).
