Rising Seniors

Senior Summary: Rising seniors will need to schedule a senior summary with the Undergraduate Office.  All students who are within 2-3 semesters of graduating (approximately 75 completed semester hours) will receive an email prompting a sign up for a senior summary.  Senior summary appointments will cover what courses students need to complete in order to satisfy specific degree program requirements.


Apply to graduate!!!  Go to Banner self-service menu.  Click on “student”, then “student records”, then “apply to graduate.”  Be sure to thoroughly review all information for accuracy. Click here to see step by step instructions.

The address is the mailing address diplomas will be mailed to after degree requirements have been met.  Use a permanent address not a temporary one!

Our department uses this information to distribute important information such as emails and letters.  Students who fail to apply to graduate, using the instructions above, will not receive important graduation information.

Exit Exam

All graduating seniors are required to take an exit exam in their final semester (exception students completing degree requirements in the summer will take the exit exam in the spring semester prior to the summer of anticipated graduation).  All students who applied to graduate for that semester will receive an email with the days and times the exit exam is offered.

Graduating Senior Survey

Graduating seniors will receive an invitation to complete the senior survey online.  You can find the link within PiratePort to access the Qualtrics survey.  We encourage you to complete this survey as it provides valuable information to our departments.

Congratulations on your upcoming achievement. You have worked very hard to make it to this point in your educational career.  Our department could not be prouder of all of our outstanding students.

RSVP to Graduation

To RSVP please use the sign-up sheet that will be emailed to all students who applied to graduate for that semester.  The "quantity" is the number of guests you are bringing.

Picture and Information for Slideshow

During the graduation ceremony we will display pictures of our graduating class as each student walks across the stage.  Please send a picture for the slide show to Mrs. Ginger Grimes (grimesg14@ecu.edu).

DEADLINE: Two Weeks Prior to Graduation Date

Include the following information:

  • jpeg or jpg files only
  • File name: Last name, First name (Example: Smith, Joseph Thomas) Middle names or middle initials are optional, however, appreciated if you have a common name.
  • File MUST be attached to email.  Do not embed image within email.
  • Include your hometown and state.
  • If applicable, please indicate if you are receiving one or more of the following honors:
    • Summa Cum Laude (Final GPA 3.90-4.00)
    • Magna Cum Laude (Final GPA 3.60-3.89)
    • Cum Laude (Final GPA 3.50-3.59)
    • University Honors o Honors in Biology
    • Undergraduate Assistant (UA) under Dr. Vance-Chalcraft
    • Robert H. Wright Alumni Leadership Award

ADA Assistance

If you have a family member (or yourself) that requires ADA assistance please include specifics in your email so that I can notify our venue to take appropriate arrangements.
