The Department of Biology has two boats, a 16 foot Wahoo with a 70HP  motor and an 18 foot Privateer with a new 200HP Mercury.  Both boats have galvanized trailers which can be towed with the departmental van.  The Wahoo is used on the river.  The Privateer is large enough to be used safely in the sounds.  The Serrana, a 22 foot, inboard vessel, and a 24 foot C-Hawk are available for research through the Institute of Coastal Marine Resources.
