RESEARCH ACTIVITY


Professor Daniel has research interests in animal communication, comparative auditory/ vestibular anatomy and pathology, human brain structure and function and the evolution of human speech and language. He is especially interested in sexual dimorphism as it relates to the aforementioned general research areas.

HONORS

Professor Daniel has won the Robert and Lina Mays Teaching Excellent Award (1976-77) and the Sigma Xi Faculty Research Award (1982).  He served as chapter president of the Society of Sigma Xi (1993-94) and presently chairs the Phi Kappa Phi Faculty Selection Committee.

Along with Professors Joe Luczkovich and Mark Sprague, Professor Daniel has been working on a  $160,000 Division of Marine Fisheries grant entitled, "Characterization of Sciaenid Spawning Site by Hydroacoustic surveys".

Professor Daniel's latest poetry collection, Moksha, was just published by Chiron Review Press, St. John, Kansas.
