| RESEARCH ACTIVITY
I study (1) the ecology of estuaries, including seagrass, mangrove, and coral reef ecosystems, with special emphasis on the feeding ecology of marine fishes in those systems; (2) food web and network models of communities and ecosystems; (3) the use of geographic information systems and remote sensing data to study changes in these ecosystems; (4) the acoustical detection of fish to map spawning habitats; (5) the role of microbial symbionts in the digestive physiology of fishes; (6) ecomorphology of fishes; (7) management of marine fisheries.
