Over 900 students enjoy pursuing their major in biology including course work, engaging in research with departmental faculty and participating in varied extracurricular activities associated with their major and their department. Among these activities are several student groups related to the academic emphasis or concentration within biology, such as the Aquatic Sciences Club, GAIA, Tri Beta, and Alpha Epsilon Delta.
All majors and intended majors are assigned academic advisers from among the faculty of the Biology Department. The Office of the Director of Undergraduate Studies is available to all students to assist advisers and students in accomplishing their educational goals. Located adjacent to the departmental office in BN108C, the Director is available during extended office hours and by appointment.
