Professional Focus
1. Distance Education- Development and Facilitation: I have been involved in the development, review and delivery of online courses in a number of platforms. Most recently, I have been working with a team from the University of North Carolina's LearnNC program, exploring best practices in online course delivery. We now believe that the pedagogical models developed for online courses can have tremendous benefit in face-to-face courses, with the potential for revolutionizing the way we create and facilitate the learning experience in any venue.
2. Environmental Sustainability: Virtually all solutions to environmental problems are already developed and sequestered in academia. Unfortunately, this information rarely makes it intact to the general public or policy makers, resulting in misguided efforts for attaining sustainability. The solution to this problem is an informed public, specifically those students in education and non-science disciplines.
