ECU Offers New Testament Greek

In a new collaboration between the Programs in Classical Studies and Religious Studies, East Carolina students will have the opportunity to study New Testament Greek, also known as koine Greek.

New Testament Greek is available to students who have completed one-year of Ancient Greek. Interested students should sign up for GRK 1001 in the Fall Semester and GRK 1002 in the Spring Semester. Students should also enroll in RELI 2695: Introduction to the Old Testament or RELI 2696: Introduction to the New Testament. The two Greek classes and one of the Religious Studies classes are prerequisites for special one-credit sections of Ancient Greek. These sections will meet concurrently with RELI 3796: Paul and His Letters and RELI 3896: Life and Teachings of Jesus. Students will enroll in the RELI 3796/3896 and the GRK course at the same time. They will attend the regular RELI course and have an extra one hour per week with the instructor, during which they will read the Greek of the New Testament texts being studied in class.

Don't miss out on this exciting new opportunity. Sign up for GRK 1001 and RELI 2695/2696 in the Fall 2012 Semester!

For more information, please contact Dr. John Given in Classical Studies or Dr. Lee Johnson in Religious Studies.
