Reasons Why I Chose PhD Program at ECU
Although my beloved and very much missed mentor, Gay Wilentz, tried to get me to go to Texas for PhD studies in Multicultural Literatures, my equally and respected mentor, Sherry Southard, convinced me that I could pioneer my research within the PhD program at ECU. I liked the challenge such an opportunity offered, so I chose the PhD program at ECU.
