Children's Bilingual Storytime & Art Workshop a huge success!

On Saturday, October 2, 2010 Dr. Jennifer Valko’s Hispanic Studies students collaborated with Dr. Alice Arnold’s Art Education Students and hosted a successful Bilingual Story-time & Art Workshop at Joyner Library. This special bilingual (English & Spanish) cultural service event was created for children from 2-10 years of age and their families. About 50 members of the community participated in this event hosted by 34 student facilitators. Hispanic Studies Students provided an interactive, bilingual story-time featuring the childhoods and family life of famous Latinos while Art Education Students delivered a book-making workshop for participants to create their own bilingual autobiographies.
