AREAS OF INTEREST
Keith Corbitt has taught Spanish in the traditional program as well as the Modified Foreign Language Program at ECU. He has an MA in Foreign Language Pedagogy from the University of Delaware, where he was awarded the prestigious University of Delaware Excellence in Teaching award in 2002. He is currently a Ph.D. Candidate at Indiana University. His dissertation explores the metacognitive strategies at-risk students of Spanish utilize while performing non-reciprocal listening tasks. His research interests are twofold: 1) The foreign language learning styles and strategies of at-risk foreign language students and 2) second language and foreign language assessment with a special focus on validity and reliability studies. He has presented and published in the fields of teacher training and foreign language education.
