WHY STUDY FRENCH?

French language and culture is extremely important in today’s world.   As you may know, French is spoken by an estimated 200,000 million people on five continents. French is one of the most important languages in international politics and business. It is an official language of many international organizations including the United Nations, the European Union, the International Red Cross, the World Trade Organization, and the International Olympic Committee. French is also an official language of Canada, the United States’ number one trade partner. Based on US Census figures, French is the third most frequently spoken second-language in the United States.[1]
