Instruction is offered in Hispanic languages and civilization of Spain and the Americas. Degree Programs: Minor, BA in Hispanic Studies, BS in Hispanic Studies with teacher certification, Certificate in Spanish, Certificate in Spanish translation; Graduate Certificate in Spanish Translation; graduate courses for the MA in International Studies. Courses in the history of Hispanic culture from the Middle Ages to the modern world, including classic literature, Pre-Columbian Latin America, film, and professional internships. Study abroad opportunities in Spain and the Americas; ECU participates in the NC Consortium academic year exchange with Universidad de Cantabria in Santander, Spain and the summer exchange with Universidad Regiomontana in Monterrey Mexico.
