Welcome to the Department of Geography at East Carolina University! We do hope that you'll visit us in person if you haven't yet had the opportunity.  In the interim, we hope that our web page helps you to get acquainted with our program and our people.

The Department is energetic, collegial, and enthusiastically caught up in the excitement of contemporary, relevant geography. As you visit the individual web pages of faculty and students you'll see that the research and learning are issue oriented and apply the best in geographic thought and technology.

East Carolina University is the third largest university in the North Carolina System. Greenville is a pleasant and progressive community of about 60,000. It's a very nice scale for most students and faculty — not too big and not too small. Greenville is the cultural, educational, and economic center of North Carolina's historic coastal plain.

Should you need any additional information, please contact our department chair, Dr. Burrell Montz.
