Center for Geographic Information Science - Scholarships
NCASPRS Scholarship
The mission of NCASPRS is to advance knowledge and improve understanding of mapping sciences and to promote the responsible applications of photogrammetry, remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), and supporting technologies.
The ASPRS NC Chapter has established a $500.00 scholarship to be awarded annually. This award is open to students who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Geospatial Studies (e.g., GIS, Photogrammetry, Surveying, Geography with GIS concentration, or similar) at East Carolina University. This is a one-time award based on a competitive process for the best application or project utilizing geospatial technologies.
Applicants are required to submit a summary of the project and three letters of recommendation. Applications are due no later than Dec 1, 2002. The recipient will be expected to provide a live presentation/demonstration at the following spring conference. 2005 NCASPRS winner: Kate Stratford.
North Carolina GITA Scholarship
The Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) is a nonprofit educational association serving the global geospatial community.
Eligible students will be:
Continuing their education in the academic year.
Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program using geospatial technologies.
Completing the project during the academic year.
