A conference co-sponsored by Great Books, "Neo-Latin and the Humanities. An International Symposium in Honor of Charles Fantazzi" will be held on February 24-25, 2011.
Agenda Item 1. Report from David Smith on GRBK 2500, Great Books of the Enlightenment.
Dr. Smith reported that he has 12 students, and that he can work up an assessment of the course.
Agenda Item 2. Discussion of fall seminar, GRBK 2000, Great Books of Love.
Dr. Stevens explained that it is unclear whether HCAS will be able to provide buyouts for interdisciplinary programs in the fall. He agreed to be the instructor of record for the course and invited interested faculty to suggest books they would like to teach.
Agenda Item 3. Assessment, both of 2500 this spring and of our program.
David Smith submitted a draft assessment plan of GRBK 2500. Stevens submitted a draft assessment plan for the minor in Great Books. The Committee suggested changes. David Wilson-Okamura agreed to work with Stevens on revisions.
