Certificates can be obtained independently or while satisfying part of the elective requirements of the Master of Science in Criminal Justice degree. There are three to choose from which range from 15-18 semester hours (s.h.) depending on the program.
The 18 s.h. certificate in criminal justice education is open to students interested in community college or vocational teaching in the criminal justice field. It focuses on enhancing the student’s knowledge of contemporary criminal justice issues while preparing the student to effectively deliver instruction.
Core (9 s.h.)
Up to 15 s.h. of courses required for the graduate certificate in security studies can be transferred as electives for the Master of Science in criminal justice.
