While all applicants must complete the ECU Graduate School admission process, the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) is not required for certificate only, non-degree, professional admission students or Alpha Phi Sigma members.

Graduate School Requirements

Minimum requirements for admission are established by the ECU Graduate School and consist of:

  • Completed online application with nonrefundable application fee
  • GRE scores sent directly to ECU
  • Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Statement of Purpose that describes the applicant’s relevant work experience, short-and long-term goals, and specific interests in the Master’s in Criminal Justice program (500-750 words, single spaced, typewritten)
  • Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate course work since high school
  • A personal interview may be requested
  • Application Checklist
