2006-2007

Mediation training will be held at the Mediation Center of Eastern North Carolina. Interested students should contact Dea Papajorgji, MA in International Studies alum and Mediation Coordinator at the Mediation Center (252-758-0268 ext.12 or dpapajorgji@mceconline.org)

Spring 2007, the World Affairs Council of Eastern NC is organizing this year’s Great Decisions seminar.  GSAIS will assist with the intermission displays and refreshments.

2005-2006

GSAIS Welcome party held on Sept. 30, 2005.

Mediation training held at the Mediation Center of Eastern North Carolina in September 2005. Two students and our advisor, Dr. Henning, attended.   [ Follow-up: Dr. Henning and Dea Papajorgji were certified as community mediators in fall 2006. Dea became Mediation Coordinator at the Mediation Center in summer 2006, replacing MA in International Studies alum Susan Keusenkothen.]   see the flyer

Model United Nations Conference Nov 18-19 @ ECU. The ECU Model United Nations organized a conference for high school students and GSAIS helped usher students and administer the program under the supervision of Dr. Jeannie Grussendorf of the ECU Department of Political Science. see the flyer

In spring 2006, the ECU Department of Political Science organized the  Great Decisions seminar under the direction of Dr. Richard Kilroy.  GSAIS assisted with the intermission displays and refreshments The program was held on eight consecutive Saturdays during January, February and March. It was offered as an online/residence course “International Politics” which counted towards the security studies certificate.
