Zach Cooper
zc2Zach was born in Okinawa, Japan and grew up in several places including Oceanside, CA, Albany, GA, Landstuhl, Germany, and Jacksonville, NC. Zach attended East Carolina University for his undergraduate degree in Political Science before beginning the MAIS program. Zach began his Master’s in autumn 2012 and his concentration is Security Studies. Zach works as a graduate assistant in the Global Classroom and for the Global Partners in Education program. He is also a student member of the Board of Directors for the World Affairs Council of Eastern North Carolina. For the language requirement for the MAIS program Zach is using his previous knowledge of Russian and he will be completing his field experience at St. Petersburg State University in St. Petersburg, Russia. Zach also knows some Spanish and is beginning to learn Serbo-Croatian. As for future plans, Zach would like to use his Security Studies background and travel experience to work in either the intelligence community or in the Foreign Service. Zach previously played for the East Carolina University baseball team (Go Pirates!) and his hobbies include surfing, SCUBA diving, and beach volleyball.
