From writing projects to conducting field work, from researching the ecological effects of sea-levels to sleep disorders, from oyster monitoring to diving to study shipwrecks, the College of Arts and Sciences’ distinguished faculty excel in conducting cutting-edge research and scholarship with a broad scope that is aimed at understanding the unknown, making new discoveries, and enhancing quality of life. To advance high-quality research and scholarship, the Office of Research (OOR) supports College faculty, staff and students in their pursuit of external funding by fostering an environment that promotes creativity, collaboration, community, and commitment.

The OOR serves as a liaison between the College and University offices of research to help resolve issues, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and protect ideas and inventions. The OOR coordinates with internal and external offices to organize research-specific training programs that advances knowledge and fosters internal and external collaborations.

In these pages, the OOR intends to guide researchers and administrators through the various procedures, from the early stages of proposal development to the final stages of award closeout.
