Activities and Research Interests: Dr. Wubneh is Chair of the Department and responsible for teaching the quantitative methods in planning and the planning practicum courses. He has been actively working on various national and international projects. He is a member of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning (ACSP) Commission on Global Education in Planning. He also serves on the ACSP Board as the Southeast regional representative. His area of interest focuses on economic development and rural planning, particularly in smaller communities. Dr. Wubneh has worked with the World Bank on capacity building projects in Africa. He made several trips to Kenya, Zimbabwe, and Ethiopia to design programs, undertake research on capacity building initiatives, and conduct studies on World Bank and Africa relationships. He also serves as an instructor for the quantitative methods and management component of the AICP exam preparation sessions offered annually by the NC-APA chapter.
