Master of Arts in General Psychology

Program Overview

East Carolina University offers a Master of Arts degree in General Psychology.  Within this degree there are three areas of study:

Academic, Research, and Industrial/Organzational.  Students will gather general psychology knowledge while taking classes specific to their concentration.

The Academic Psychology concentration is a 30 semester hour, on-line program designed for students who wish to teach psychology at the community college level.

The Research Psychology concentration is also a 30 semester hour program that is taught entirely on campus.  This concentration is designed for students who wish to pursue further study at the Ph.D. level and/or work as research psychologists.

The concentration in Industrial/Organizational Psychology trains students to apply scientific solutions to the workplace.  This is a 45 semester hour program where students are provided with the tools to work in industrial and organizational settings.

Acceptance into each program is usually made for the Fall semester.  The deadline to apply for the Master's program is March 1st.
